やはりこの二人の共同録音は凄まじい!!1980年代からHands To名義と並行してテクスチャー重視のフィールド&物音録音を制作し続けている当店大推薦の作家Jeph Jerman、LAFMS系最高峰の超大型集団Airwayにも参加するL.AのパーカッショニストTed Byrnesによる、2つ目の共作となる音源[Play Drums]。タイトルの通り打楽器による録音を徹底探求した一枚で、互いの用意したアコースティック素材を重ねて構成していった、ドラムというよりは凄い疾走感で跳ねまくる物体音/ジャンクサウンドといった印象。二者ならではのラフなテクスチャーもより一層際立っています。









Following 'Passenger' (tsss tapes, 2023), Ted Byrnes & Jeph Jerman Play Drums is a further exploration of percussive collaboration. Recorded in much the same way (iterative file exchange), Play Drums is quite literal in its title. It is entirely acoustic, with both participants playing a conventional drum set, albeit *all* parts of it.

The recording is dedicated to Tim Barnes, close friend and constant source of inspiration to both Ted and Jeph.
