A composition in seven parts for 8 soundbodies (2 loudspeakers, 2 transducers hanging on metal sheets, 1 transducer on a snare drum, 2 bass shakers mounted under a metal pan filled with water, 1 bass speaker). Source material are recordings of water from Malta valley made in 2021 in Carinthia/Austria. The work is connected to the project MONOLITH with the artists Georg Planer, Peter Paszkiewicz, Josef Baier who did stone sculptures in a quarry in the same region and also geologist Urs Kloetzli who researched the nature of the stone and the landscape.
The project Monolith was founded by the sculptors Georg Planer and Peter Paszkiewicz. In 2021 an intermedial cooperation between stone sculpture, experimental music, rock science and film took place around a quarry in the Malta Valley in Carinthia/Austria. Katharina Klement created a composition for 8 sound bodies, the sound material for this was exclusively water recordings from this Valley. The catalogue integrates texts, photos, weblinks to sound and film, and the CD.
