限定100部!!Eighth Tower Recordsの主催者Raffaele PezzellaによるM.B.の軌跡を辿る102ページブックと、今回が初CD化となる名作音源のセット!!80年代よりイタリアノイズのパイオニアの一人として活動を続け、既に活動歴は40年を超えた重鎮Maurizio Bianchi。オリジナルは82年にプライベートにてカセット出版した傑作[M.U.U.N.H. 31.04.1982]と、氏の特異な業績を綴った全102ページ・モノグラフの大変貴重なセット作。プリミティブなシンセシスとテープ操作といった極めて最小限の手法で構築された音源の格好良さは勿論の事、80年代初頭のイタリア地下カルチャーへの登場から長期に渡る沈黙、その後の予期せぬ復帰までを纏めた冊子の内容も凄い。

This monograph, written by Raffaele Pezzella, follows his journey through noise and silence, from the Italian industrial underground of the early 1980s to his decades-long absence and unexpected return — a story as uncompromising as the music itself.

M.U.U.N.H. 31.04.1982 belongs to a crucial phase in the evolution of Maurizio Bianchi’s work, a period in which his radical vision of sound was consolidating into one of the most uncompromising expressions of early industrial and experimental electronic music. Recorded in 1982, at a time when the Italian underground was still largely disconnected from international circuits, this work reflects an isolated yet fiercely independent approach to sound creation, rooted in subtraction, repetition, and an almost ascetic use of technology. The acronym M.U.U.N.H. encapsulates Bianchi’s conceptual framework of the early eighties, where sound is treated not as composition in the traditional sense but as an environmental condition, a physical presence capable of inducing altered states of perception. Electronics, primitive synthesis, and tape manipulation are reduced to their bare essentials, generating a sonic landscape that feels suspended, impersonal, and relentlessly introspective.
