デレク・ベイリーやジョン・フェイヒィ、ローレン・コナーズといった大御所勢と時には並び称され、またFamily Vineyardからの諸作でも知られている、ニューヨークを拠点にマルチに活躍を続けているインプロヴィゼーション・ギタリストPhilip Gayle。ガチョウ、猫、雨、公園で遊ぶ子供、軋むドアのフィールドレコーディングを即興演奏と絡めた厳つい騒音放射。

Public Eyesore is pleased to announce the release of Philip Gayle’s latest album “Mammoth Flower” (PE 156). In typical PG fashion, he overdubbed many different acoustic instruments to create whirling sound- scapes, utilizing the environment around him. He did field recordings of a goose, cats, the rain, and kids playing in a park, as well as a creaky door to complement the diverse array of instruments recorded in the studio in Utsunomiya, Japan with special guests appearing on three of the seven pieces.
