このレーベルらしい極上の審美眼!!完全玄人好みなアート物件、電子音楽をリリースするレーベルPurgeの出版物。歌手で民族学者のTETIANO CHUKNOが過去10年に渡り収集~コンパイルしたウクライナの都市ムィコラーイウに伝わる民謡の音源集。この地域に存在する各村で、主に女性グループによって歌われた録音を纏めたもので、冬、結婚式、戦争、食品に関しての生々しく崇高な歌唱が淡々と続く高内容。付属の20ページブックレットには歌詞の英訳を掲載。



The announcement of this long in the making LP was hastened by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. All previously unreleased in any form - spare a few tapes distributed in the Mykolaiv region - these are old, old songs (of winter, weddings, war, sex, bread) predominantly sung by groups of women, and all from the villages of Mykolaiv, Ukraine. Collected over the last decade by singer and ethnographer, TETIANO CHUKNO, the LP comes with a 20-page booklet containing the Ukrainian-language original lyric sheet for each song, along with its English translation: by KSENIA GINCHUK, and STEPHEN WATTS & STANLEY SCHTINTER.

Proceeds from the higher ‘support’ payment option will be sent immediately to the artists and translators in Ukraine responsible for the record. The ‘standard’ payment option covers only the record’s production costs.
