ロンドンを拠点に活動、フリーインプロヴィゼーション・グループARCOのメンバーとして活動する傍ら、視覚現象に繋がる"ミュージックシアター"なるサウンドの研究に勤しむNeil Luck。同Entr'acteから2018年にLPデビューをしている音楽家で、本作は3年振りに発表されたソロアルバム[Downturn Fantasies]。人間の歌声や呼吸、またジャズ、クラシック調の演奏を激しくコラージュし、美しくも暴力的なイメージを積み上げる異色のエレクトロアコースティック。恐らく驚異的な想像力が無ければ表現不可能であろう凄まじい世界観です。







An abandoned title for this album- “Under Eye Finger Pressure” - could be a tentative instruction to the listener. Closing your eyes, then gently pressing the base of your eyeballs through your eyelids is a good, slightly painful way of generating accompanying visual phenomena. Direct from the lobes, unmediated colours and shapes that ease passage into a less concrete way of meeting the world.
