Nate Wooley、Troy Schaferを始め個人で異色の音楽をやっている作家に普段とは別コンセプトの楽曲制作を依頼、それをコンピレーションとして纏め上げたカナダ発のカセットレーベル(1.8)sec.recordsの企画もの。各作家が物音やアンビエント、フィールドレコーディングと別分野の実験を試みた抽象的音像の連続。

For it's 2nd compilation (1.8)sec.records invited artists to contribute tracks based around extended technique. It was left up to the artists to decide how they wanted to interpret that invitation, and they did not disappoint.

a1. Nate Wooley
- Rubin
Spatialized trumpet and sine tones.
Originally presented as an installation for The Rubin Museum.

a2. Hervé Boghossian
-Jitaku (Un-Trad series)
5-string banjo with alternate tuning, 1 metal drum brush, 1 brass slide & a capo. process : amplification of acoustic phenomenon through percussive playing on the banjo head.
No added effects, just mixing.
Recorded/amplified with 2 mics 1 overhead/ 1 under banjo head.

a3. Forbes Graham
- Right On
Solo trumpet.

a4. Nat Felicitas
- Two (Improvisation)
Nat is a collaborative cellist in Winnipeg.
This solo piece layers two, one-take improvised voices.

b1.Troy Schafer
- At Home
Prepared fiddles played with motors sewn into gloves. recorded live, in private.

b2. Justin Von Strasburg
- September 10th, 197 North
Created using a snare drum and an open window. Recorded in Buffalo, NY.

b3. Asthmatic
- Deer Recorder
Recorded in one take with two mics on different parts of the instrument with only minor post recording adjustments.
Instrument is a combination of a deer call and a recorder.
