大ベテラン・ピアニスト唯一のソロ名義LP!!米作曲家にしてアヴァンギャルド・ジャズ・ピアニストとして活動、80年代から90年代に掛けてはジョン・ゾーンの[Archery]、[Cobra]、[The Big Gundown]、[Spillane]に参加した事で知られるアンソニー・コールマン。多くのTzadikやNew World Recordsからの出版作を含め、本作がソロ名義で発表した最初のLP作[Catenary Oath]。2018年2月14日、マサチューセッツ・ボストンにあるジョーダン・ホールで披露されたライブ録音集。力強い表現と印象派的響きを交互に織り交ぜながら展開する高内容であり、氏の演奏家としての姿を多面的に記録した充実の一枚。
