ちょうど尺八の単独音源を出したいと思っていた時に、今回の音源の話をいただきました。レーベル名の「ato」（跡）にもちなみ、収録曲は古典本曲（尺八では古典のことを古典本曲と言います）だけで構成することにしました。以下、今回吹き込んだ古典本曲と使用した尺八をそれぞれ紹介します。私が吹く尺八は全て自作で、それぞれの竹の形を生かした昔ながらの”地無し尺八”と呼ばれる種類の尺八を吹いています。使う竹によって合う曲も違えば、味わいや難易度も変わるのが面白いところです。

When I got this offer from ato.archives, I was just thinking of releasing a solo shakuhachi album. Since the label name “ato” has a meaning of “trace”, I decided to record solely traditional pieces for this album. Below I will explain about each piece and shakuhachi that I played. I crafted all the shakuhachi myself in the style known as “jinashi-shakuhachi,” which preserves the natural shape of bamboo to allow you to savor the rich taste and vibrant tone colors. I choose a different shakuhachi according to each piece.
