英国国内外にてテナー及びソプラノサックスの即興演奏を行い膨大な数のライブ/レコーディングを展開、奏法の様々な拡張を行い即興演奏の発展に尽力してきた重鎮エヴァン・パーカー。スイスのローザンヌ生まれ、モントルー音楽院とローザンヌ音楽院でピアノを学び、現在まで30枚以上の関連アルバムを発表しているピアニストSylvie Courvoisierとのデュオ録音。ピアノ内部演奏やら幅広いテクニックを駆使した力強いアタック、そして耳をつんざく歪んだテナーサックスの旋律が密集したクラスター及び速いパッセージで押し寄せる素晴らしいセット。







The pianist’s forceful attack is immediately evident, met by the saxophonist’s screeching, warped tenor lines that press against dense clusters and rapid runs. Across the set, the saxophonist shifts between tenor and soprano with whirlwind intensity and occasional polyphonic textures, while the pianist draws on a wide palette of techniques—from inside-the-piano string work that evokes mystery to rougher, more urgent gestures—to shape a constantly evolving range of moods.
