前作よりも大幅に抽象度が増しています!!受賞歴のあるドキュメンタリー映画グループBlack Audio Film Collectiveの創設メンバーにして、1996年から2007年に掛けてはユニットHallucinatorとしてChain Reactionより数種のEP作品をリリースしたTrevor Mathison。2022年夏にロンドンで開催された初の個展に合わせ制作した1stソロ音源[From Signal to Decay: Volume 2]を以前紹介しましたが、本作はそのシリーズ的続編と思われる2023年ブリュッセルでの展覧会に合わせて作った楽曲"Volume 5"。ナゼか謎にVol.3、4が飛ばされていますが、Vol.2で披露したダブ的構造を踏襲しつつ、ストリングスや女性の語りの深淵な響きを取り入れ、よりアブストラクトに仕上げています。限定250部、2つのリソグラフインサート付き、シルク刷りスリーヴ、180グラム重量盤仕様。
