バキバキのミュージック・コンクレートからフィールドレコーディングまで、完全通好みの音楽家を手掛ける英レーベルPersistence Of Sound。ここのレーベルのオーナーIain Chambersを核に、カルテット、トリオ、デュオと様々な形態で演奏活動を続けるLangham Research Centreが同国のサックスプレイヤーJohn Butcherとの共作を発表。カセットデッキ、オシレーター、短波ラジオの音をアンプリファイしデコボコの音響として投下、John Butcherのサックスと融合し高揚感のある絶妙な音の連なりを生み出していく全6テイク。単なるインプロヴィゼーションものでは無い、このレーベルの要素が全て盛り込まれた高内容。







Langham Research Centre work as a quartet, a trio or as a duet to make experimental music using resources and ideas that, until recently, were considered obsolete, redundant and outdated. In this recording, Iain Chambers and Robert Worby use cassette machines, oscillators, shortwave radio and amplified small sounds to improvise with John Butcher.

John Butcher is well known as a saxophonist who attempts to engage with the uniqueness of time and place. His music ranges through improvisation, his own compositions, multitracked works and explorations with feedback and extreme acoustics.
